Collingham Band is based in the village of Collingham, near Wetherby. As a community wind band, we welcome new members to join us, from school students to players of retirement age. There are no auditions - members just need the ability to play at least Grade 4 level and the enthusiasm to attend regular rehearsals.
Collingham Band performs at many events throughout the year, raising money for charity whilst having fun and making new friends at the same time.
A wide variety of organisations hire Collingham Band to play at their events. Some of the most notable events we have performed at include the Tour de France, the Armistice Remembrance and Whitby Regatta.
Collingham Band was founded in 1995, when Diana Lee, a local music teacher, was asked to gather a group of musicians to play at the annual village Gala. The Band quickly became established, and has grown to a flourishing Wind Band of around 38 enthusiastic wind and brass players who travel from a wide area to perform and rehearse together.

More details about Collingham Band's instrumental sections and the repertoire we play can be found on the About page.
Collingham Band has gone from strength to strength but our underlying principles and aspirations remain the same:
to encourage musicians of all standards and ages to play and experience the joy of music making together.
