The leader of Collingham Band, Diana Lee, is delighted with how quickly the Training Band has become established.  Having started in September 2015, it now numbers 30+ players on a wide range of woodwind and brass instruments. New members welcome!

Collingham Training Band rehearses on Fridays during term time, 5pm - 5.45pm.  The rehearsal venue is conveniently located between Wetherby and north Leeds at Collingham Methodist Church Hall, Harewood Road, Collingham LS22 5BL.

There is no minimum age to join Collingham Training Band - and no maximum age either! Both children and adults of any age can apply to join Collingham Training Band.

When members of Collingham Training Band reach a suitable level, you will have the opportunity to join the senior Collingham Band, which performs at a wide range of public events.

If you can play a wind or brass instrument to the standard of Grade 1+ to Grade 3 and would like to join a band, Collingham Training Band will give you plenty of enjoyable experience. We play wind band arrangements of popular tunes from films and shows, together with folk tunes - all music that you know and love!

Some of the members of Collingham Band, which members of the training band will be able to join at Grade 4+ standard.

Band membership fee only £22.50 per term


Collingham Training Band gave its first public performance just 3 months after formation when it entertained an appreciative audience with Christmas carols and seasonal music at a Christmas event.  Participation at 'Carols by Candlelight' on Christmas Eve at Harewood House further established the Band's place in the community.

2016 saw Collingham Training Band take part in all the events at which the main Collingham Band has performed, including playing on Wetherby Bandstand and at Collingham Gala.  Collingham Training Band also took part in the Commemoration of the Battle of the Somme in Collingham Woods on Saturday 9th July.

Band practice is currently suspended due to Covid-19.  The Musical Director is looking into ways to enable the Band to continue to make music together in preparation for our return to group playing as soon as possible.
